The land is generally deep, with subsoil formed by soft rocks (Marl lime or disintegrated lime penetrable by the root).
The relief is varied with undulations and slopes in which the vineyard is cultivated in a traditional way, on drained hillside slopes, therefore there are no problems of an excess of moisture.
There is an abundance of sandy land, siliceous, granitic and those formed by marl lime. In general there is abundance of lands where the thick elements are abundant.
These could very well be carbonate, lime rocks or alluvial, pebble and gravel.
There arent any limiting lands by an excess of sodium salts or chloride, only in the low Arlanza basin can there exist gypsum outcrop (lime sulphate) in small dimensions to a piece of land level, which can easily be detected with a chemical analysis of the superior horizons in the land phase election.
